The tribal gaming industry from the United States has posted a $28.5 billion gross revenue last year. This is the fifth year in a row in which they have seen their revenue grow since 2009. The National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC) have released data that shows the Indian gaming industry has increased by 1.5% to $28.5 billion in 2014 compared to the $28 billion it got in 2013.

“Overall, the Indian gaming industry remains stable. Stability comes from solid operations, strong tribal management, and effective regulation by the Indian gaming’s regulatory community, which includes the NIGC and more than 5,400 tribal regulators. Sound regulation is an essential pillar of support for the critical avenue of self-sufficiency and self-determination that Indian gaming has proven for so many tribal nations. Sound regulation preserves public confidence, protects tribal assets, and promotes a safe and fair environment for all people who interact with the industry.” said NIGC Chairman Jonodev Chaudhurl when asked about the increase in revenue.

In 2014, 72% of all tribal gaming operations showed a clear improvement on a year-on-year basis. 68% of these only showed moderate growth though. The biggest region is Sacramento which has 68 tribal casinos plus two online gambling sites with about 100 slot machines. All of these accounted for about $305 million in gaming revenue, a 4.4% increase year-on-year.

Rumours also abound about tribal gaming organizations trying to break out more into the world of online gambling by sealing some deals with different online gambling software providers.
