In 2013 three states – Nevada, Delaware and New Jersey – launched online gambling sites. Since that moment the expansion of internet gambling has slowly but surely stopped. No other states have passed a bill legalizing online casino games or online poker games. On top of all of this, you have Sheldon Adelson who is giving it all he’s got in an effort to ban online gambling all across the United States.

Adelson and his allies in Congress are working hard trying to get the Restoration of America’s Wire Act bill passed. They are also working in the shadows with the Coalition to Stop Internet Gambling in their effort to stop what they find a troublesome matter.

But all is not lost yet; Congress will most likely not pass on such a bill. Mostly because it might be politically toxic to do so given that it will probably attract a lot of hatred from the public. Especially from the ones who enjoy gambling and would like to do so from the comfort of their homes.

Another factor which will help the legalization of online gambling is that all in all, most of these companies would have to pay for licenses and then spend money yearly on taxes. All of this means profit straight to state pockets. They would be foolish to pass this up. And the people’s voice is also making itself heard through the internet. It wouldn’t be the first time America legalized something which they deemed illegal earlier due to popular desire. I’m looking at you alcohol.
