July 6th of this year represents the deadline for casino operators to request the approval of a new Vegas-style casino in the Southern Tier region of NYS.
Members of the New York State Gaming Commission stated at Tuesday’s meeting that they are anticipating at least two new solicitations for new casinos to be built in the state. They are hopeful to receive the applications by the aforementioned July deadline.
With the New York State Gaming Commission handing out a new license in March, for a fourth marketable casino to be built in the Southern Tier, the gates are now open for another session of requests from casino operators wanting to invest in the gambling market of the state.
Operators, who already own licenses and run casinos in the area, have admitted to definitely looking to apply for new licenses. Some even plan to expand and improve their facilities, adding new restaurants, mini-golf, and even batting cages.
Rumours circulate of another operator expected by members of the commission to apply, although no official reveal has been made so far.
